Privacy Policy

• Browser preferences: an optional nickname and country, a random participant ID, and your usage-statistics preference. These stay in this browser; a profile is not a secure account.
• Optional usage events: if you opt in, we send tool activity, response language, country and a random participant ID to our analytics service. We do not include your nickname, questions or documents in these events.
• Content you submit: the answers, questions, or documents (e.g. a résumé) you provide are processed to generate your results.

We use this information solely to provide the features you request, to understand overall usage, and to improve the quality of guidance. Aggregated usage helps us decide which features and languages to prioritise.

We do not sell your data, share it externally for marketing, or use it for advertising. Access to usage data is limited to the AfriCareer AI team.

To generate responses, the content you submit is sent to trusted processors — OpenAI (for the AI model) and, for live search, Tavily. Search embeddings and reference retrieval use Pinecone. The website and API are hosted on Vercel and Render. Optional usage analytics and submitted feedback are stored with Supabase. Hosting providers may process operational logs, such as request metadata, to run and protect the service. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information (such as national ID numbers or financial details) that you would not want processed by these services.

Browser preferences last for the tab session unless you choose to remember them. Use Clear profile to remove them from this browser. Documents are processed to produce your output and are not saved to your browser profile. Submitted feedback and optional usage events are stored for service improvement; clearing your profile does not delete server records. Contact us to request deletion. Processor retention is governed by their service terms.

You can use the core tools without providing a name, country or email and without enabling usage statistics. Feedback is voluntary; submitting it sends the rating and comment to our team. To change your statistics preference, clear your profile and reopen the workspace. If you would like server records removed, contact us at the address below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as AfriCareer AI evolves or to comply with legal or operational requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with the revised effective date.
